Rare chance to acquire an original etching from the same edition as the one held in the collection of the British Museum!

Titled : PORTE DE LA CADENE, ST. EMILION by notable engraver and print maker, Hedley Fitton, RE (1858 - 1929). Signed in pencil lower right.

View of a small, cobbled street in St. Emilion, France. The sign of "Hotelo Gare Dussaut" in the right foreground, figure carrying baskets on the left passing by cart.

Etchings and dry point with surface tone. Produced in 1924.

Absolutely genuine and still in original gilt frame. The engraving is absolutely pristine, but the mat has some minor foxing. The frame does show its age but is part of the charm.
